Bringing Clinical Knowledge Into the Radiology Workflow

Radiologists have access to more clinical information than ever, but accessing that information during a case is still a challenge. In this webinar clip, Adam E. Flanders, MD, RSNA Board Member and Professor of Radiology at Thomas Jefferson University, shares how RSNA hopes to change that.

RSNA Ventures operates as a subsidiary of RSNA, created to give the organization more flexibility to collaborate with technology companies and explore new approaches to innovation.

As Dr. Flanders explains, the goal is to look for new and practical ways to develop products that support radiologists and, in turn, improve patient care. A key part of that approach is working with companies that are actively building and iterating on clinical tools.

This led to the partnership between RSNA Ventures and Rad AI — RSNA’s first-ever industry collaboration through its newly formed venture subsidiary. The primary objective is to integrate RSNA’s trusted, peer-reviewed scientific literature directly into the radiologist’s point-of-care workflow through Rad AI Reporting.

What This Partnership Means for Radiologists

RSNA has an extensive library of journal articles and scientific material. However, radiologists often don’t have time to perform formal lookups during a case. Searching for information may involve navigating to external sources, reviewing full articles and determining whether the content is relevant.

In many cases, that process doesn’t fit into the pace of clinical workflows. Instead of requiring radiologists to search for information, the idea is to provide smaller, relevant pieces of content that align with what they’re doing in real time — and in the point-of-care workflow.

Radiologists need to be confident that what they’re using is accurate and reliable. By leveraging RSNA’s existing content in Rad AI Reporting, the goal is to ensure that any surfaced information is grounded in trusted, vetted material.

This clip is part of a broader conversation on how organizations are thinking about integrating clinical knowledge, AI and workflow in radiology. To hear more about this partnership and the approach behind it, access the full on-demand webinar.
