Our Story
Rad AI co-founder Jeff Chang, MD, is one of America's best-known radiologists and the youngest U.S. radiologist in history. Jeff's unique insights are why Rad AI is focused on workflow automation in healthcare.
After starting medical school at NYU at age 16 and completing a fellowship in musculoskeletal MRI, Jeff worked overnights as an ER radiologist for 10 years. Troubled by worsening radiologist burnout, the paucity of assistive technology for radiologists and ever-rising imaging volumes, Jeff decided to take action. He pursued graduate work in machine learning to identify ways in which AI could make radiologists' lives better. Along the way, Jeff met co-founder Doktor Gurson, a serial entrepreneur with deep technology experience, and Rad AI was conceived soon after in 2018.
Rad AI leverages its own generative AI models trained specifically for radiology and healthcare, along with one of the largest proprietary radiology report datasets in the world, to deliver solutions that save physicians time, reduce burnout and improve patient care. Today, Rad AI is the fastest growing company in generative AI for healthcare, working with over 40% of all U.S. health systems and 9 of the 10 largest U.S. radiology practices.
